Course Description: Whether you shoot long range recreationally, Precision Rifle series style competition or as a Military or law enforcement professional, you may currently be using or considering purchasing a scope with one of the following Horus Vision designed reticles:
- TReMoR 3
- TReMoR 5
- H59
- H59 – MOA
Regardless, if you’re not familiar with any of these reticles, you may think, “Too cluttered.” Clutter applies to features you’re unfamiliar with. Each Horus designed reticle has features that are applicable to multi – target at multiple, variable ranges that are clearly understood with formal training. This course is designed to fully familiarize you with all these features in short classroom sessions then immediately followed by feature application on the long-distance range which includes a variable speed moving target system. You’ll quickly realize the benefits of these reticles in rapid target engagements, wind holds and moving target leads while never having to come off glass to dial.
Subjects covered:
- Milliradian (MRAD) sub-tension line identification (Minute of Angle for the H59 – MOA)
- Reticle range finding
- Moving target mile per hour marks
- Wind dot calibration / wind dots as moving target reference points (TReMoR 3, 5)
- Rapid, variable distance target engagements
- Hold-overs combined with wind holds and calculated mover leads
Come prepared i.e., Scope with one of the above Horus reticles, mounted and rifle zeroed at your prescribed distance with elevation and windage turrets indexed to 0 and zero stops set, receiver screws, base & scope ring screws torqued to their required settings. We’ll fine tune the zeroes for that day and calibrate or recalibrate the wind dots for the weekend’s specific atmospheric conditions though. For those who do not know their actual velocities, we’ll chronograph their rifle for this information.
Note: This is neither a Precision Rifle nor basic long range marksmanship course (see Precision Rifle) as focus will be entirely on use of the Horus series reticle(s).
- Precision rifle capable of sub minute of angle accuracy. Note: Semi-autos welcome IF they function reliably. Time will not be allocated to trouble shoot a non-functioning semi-auto
